Sarens, world leader in heavy lifting, engineered transport and crane rental services, has played a key role in the development of Western Java’s infrastructure by executing the lifting and assembly operations for a new bridge in Bekasi, supporting improved site access and construction connectivity in the area. The company was responsible for positioning two large steel bridge girders for its client DUA PERKASA PRIMA.
To perform this tandem lifting operation, Sarens deployed a technical solution consisting of two crawler cranes: an XCMG XGC400-1 —configured with a 36 m SHB main boom, 12 m superlift radius, and 110+40 tonnes of counterweight— and a Liebherr LR 1350-1 LN —configured with a 36 m LDB main boom, 13 m superlift radius, and 85+8 tons of counterweight—. This configuration was selected by the engineering team to ensure optimal lifting capacity, high stability on prepared ground, and maximum flexibility in confined spaces.
The logistics and advance planning phase required a rigorous specialized transport plan to mobilize the dismantled components of both cranes to the job site in Bekasi. The operation involved a total of 39 heavy transport loads, coordinating on-site assembly within the timeframe established by the client.
During the critical lifting maneuvers, Sarens’ technical team operated two bridge girders weighing 280 tons each, lifting them to an approximate height of 5 meters. Operations were carried out with a pick-up radius between 18 m and 16 m, and a controlled final installation radius between 14 m and 13 m, overcoming ground pressure challenges and managing the surrounding space.
