Sarens was commissioned to work with PT Shinko Plantech on the shutdown maintenance job of PT Asahimas chemical plant in Cilegon which posed a huge challenge for the company, as there was very limited time in the shutdown to finish the job.
The construction and big machinery movements for the project were extremely difficult and characterized by high fire and explosion safety requirements, maneuverability in tight spaces and coordination with many different teams.
Sarens, global leader and reference in crane rental, heavy lift and engineered transportation services, was selected to collaborate with PT Shinko Plantech on the maintenance during a shutdown of PT Asahimas chemical plant in Cilegon, Banten, Indonesia.
The collaboration posed a huge challenge for the company, as progress had to be fast given the limited time for the project, which added an extra layer of complexity. The team approached the project with meticulous attention to detail, and its engineers had to carry out a thorough analysis of the plans in order to coordinate with the various operations, equipment and safety departments.
Sarens' track record, with more than a decade of experience in the Indonesian lifting and moving market, served to ensure that each standard lifting plan could meet the most demanding criteria in terms of personnel and environmental considerations, while maintaining a near 100% success rate on every single operation.
Remarkably, the project's construction conditions were extremely challenging, characterized by high fire and explosion safety requirements, maneuverability in tight spaces and coordination with many different teams. The space for the machinery movements was very limited and the team had to ensure the safety of all crew members and plant personnel during the lifts, coordinating with other on-site activities to ensure a safe and efficient setup.
In order to undertake the project, Sarens used two mobile cranes with 70T capacity and another one with 50T. They were selected based on the site's constrainsite and ground stability conditions. The equipment was taken on trailers to site from the yard and took about 4-6 hours to reach the client site. Once the access routes to establish the cranes were clear it took more than 3 hours to set up the 70T cranes and more than 2 hours for the 50T crane including assembly and safety checks .
The skilled operators, experienced in various projects all over the country, demonstrated the required professionalism, from site supervision to crane operation, auxiliary cranes and equipment maintenance. Eventually, despite external factors such as adverse weather conditions, Sarens successfully completed the project on schedule, exceeding all expectations.
