The nation's natural gas resources and reserves are at their peak, having increased from 3.6% in 2020 to 3,978 Tcf today.
Having already recovered 57,000 jobs from the 83,000 jobs lost in 2020, the Texas oil and gas industry continues to grow and drives the regional economy.
With the opening of its facility in Odessa, Texas, located in an oil-rich area, Sarens has a strategic advantage in providing complete heavy lift, transportation and engineering support solutions for large projects in the region.
Thanks to the latest technological advances and the development of new reserves, the country's natural gas resources and reserves are at their peak, increasing from 3.6% in 2020 to the current 3,978 Tcf. Therefore, and considering the observed trends, a reliable and solid future national gas supply is foreseen based on the increase in production, processing and storage to meet the existing demand.
Faced with this scenario, Sarens' work as a driver of the energy industry is noteworthy. With its expertise in oil and gas plant construction projects, Sarens continues to play an important role in achieving complete energy autonomy in the country. Following the opening of its facilities in Odessa, Texas, located in an oil-rich area, the company is supporting the oil and gas industry, as well as other projects more focused on the development of wind energy.
In this regard, having already recovered 57,000 jobs from the 83,000 lost in 2020 during the pandemic - 35% of the sector's total - according to data from the Gulf Coast Energy Outlook 2023, prepared by Louisiana State University, the oil and gas industry in Texas continues to grow and drive the regional economy. This is attested to by the number of active projects in the state of Texas, with more than 160,000 oil wells and more than 85,000 gas wells, according to data from the Railroad Commission of Texas.
Sarens' international experience in the creation of new infrastructures in the region, as well as in the corrective and predictive maintenance of existing ones, means a boost for the number of active projects throughout the state of Texas and, therefore, for job creation. Both the government and public administrations, as well as private construction companies, require Sarens' support in choosing the machinery for each project, as well as in carrying out the logistical operations of transporting the materials and infrastructure necessary to carry out these tasks.
"The Texas facility provides Sarens with a strategic advantage in offering complete heavy lift, transportation and engineering support solutions for large projects. The industry is now looking to invest millions of dollars in the development of oil drilling and gas liquefaction facilities while expanding existing facilities and Sarens is poised to be part of this expansion process", says Robert Martinez, Sarens VP of Sales.
At a time when the industry has high growth prospects, Sarens reaffirms its commitment to the development of oil and gas production and processing in Texas in particular and in the US in general. In the same way, the company also puts its focus on other wind energy projects that are also being developed in the region, and in which it also has a great deal of experience in many countries. With around 17,000 wind turbines in operation, Texas is the state with the highest penetration of this type of energy generation.
Martinez adds "Reaching the 30 GW of offshore wind energy planned by the Government for 2030 will also require a major logistical effort involving almost 49,000 employees over the next seven years. For this reason, Sarens is making available all its specialized machinery for the installation of offshore wind projects, in which it already has extensive international experience, making our company one of the main references in its sector".
Sarens has already been involved in several projects aimed at strengthening the oil sector in the U.S. One example is the construction and modernization work at the Corpus Christi refinery in Texas, where Sarens used several of its larger capacity cranes, such as the 385 tonne Liebherr LR1350S crawler cranes transported from Australia, to lift and position two reactors and 58 modules. Sarens also has experience in the wind energy field, having participated in the lifting and transportation of the foundation bases for the new Saint Brieuc offshore wind farm, off the coast of Brittany in France.
