Thanks to the establishment of its new facilities in Beaumont, Sarens can provide more personalized and local attention to petrochemical projects in the area.
The U.S. petrochemicals market will continue to grow at a CAGR of 6.6% from 2024 to 2032, when it will reach a value of approximately $193 billion. It is estimated that the industry will create 462,000 new jobs by 2025.
With approximately 100,000 employees, Texas is home to the largest petrochemical cluster in the world. The state is home to 32 Fortune 500 energy-related companies and more than 500 energy-related businesses. The Texas petrochemical industry benefits from a unique combination of abundant natural resources, advanced infrastructure and a highly skilled workforce. These factors have enabled Texas to not only maintain its position as the nation's leader in petrochemical production, but also to expand its influence in the international market.
Sarens, world leader in heavy lifting, engineered transport and crane rental, has become a pivotal partner in the Texas petrochemical industry thanks to its comprehensive fleet of cutting-edge cranes and SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transport), which are well-suited for handling large and heavy components, a necessity for the construction and maintenance of petrochemical facilities.
Sarens recently took part in the maintenance of a plant in Golden Triangle, SETX, replacing a large industrial kiln to improve the efficiency of the facilities and ensure continuity of operations.
To lift the new kiln, which measures 91 feet in length and 6 feet in diameter, weighing 122,000 pounds, Sarens' team selected a Liebherr LTM 1400 truck crane configured with 264,600 pounds of counterweight, which has a maximum load capacity of 400 tons and a lifting height of 426 feet. This equipment was chosen for its optimum lifting capacity as well as its smooth movement, a key factor in the kiln replacement process. The old kiln was cut into two pieces for ease of removal, while the new kiln was installed in one pick. This strategic approach minimized the complexity of the operation.
Charlie Morris, Project Manager at Sarens, remarked, "The Kiln changeout was a great success due to our meticulous planning and the excellent performance of our team and equipment. It highlights Sarens' commitment to precision, safety, and efficiency as a key player in the Texas petrochemical market”.
Thanks to the establishment of its new facilities in Beaumont, Sarens can provide more personalized and local attention to petrochemical projects in the area, offering expert engineering solutions for the maintenance of plants already in operation or for new infrastructures. This helps to maintain stable production and guarantee supply to meet increased demand.
Sarens optimizes operational efficiency through meticulous project planning, minimizing downtime and reducing operating costs. This helps projects being completed on schedule and within budget.
