The new Sarens Country Manager for Belgium has had an extensive professional career with positions of high responsibility as sales director or business unit manager in demanding industries such as renewable energies or metallurgical.
The appointment coincides with a period of growth at Sarens, following the acquisition of 100% of the shares and other fruitful agreements for the company.
As a part of its strategy to grow and consolidate its business in Europe, Sarens, world leader in heavy lifting, engineered transport and crane rental services, has appointed Bart Minnen as the new Country Manager of its business unit in Belgium. Minnen will be responsible for strengthening Sarens' regional presence in the country to offer its clients better access to its services, as well as improving cooperation and operations between the various depots in the country.
Among others, Minnen has worked in the manufacture of heat exchangers and pressure vessels, as workshop manager (production manager), and later as company manager. He also held the position of KAM (Key Acquisition Manager) and sales manager in a company specializing in the marketing of automation systems for the metallurgical industry, focusing on the production of aircraft components, and 5 years' experience as a business unit manager in a sector closely linked to Sarens, the windmill industry.
According to Minnen, "Sarens is currently one of the world's leading companies in lifting and transporting heavy parts. But to consolidate that position we must offer more added value to customers by having a stronger regional presence and thus be able to offer the customer better access to the services we offer. This is also achieved by strengthening the collaboration between the different teams that make up Sarens".
For Sarens' main working equipment, cranes, the arrival of Minnen as Country Manager in Belgium will also bring changes. "It is planned to replace some of the older cranes with new ones. The expansion of equipment and the replacement of old equipment with new models is an ongoing process at Sarens Belgium unit and in the Sarens Group in general," explained the executive.
Minnen's appointment comes at a time of expansion of Sarens' European business. The company recently announced its entry into the Italian market by acquiring a stake in Zanetti, a company specializing in heavy lifting solutions for the oil&gas, wind, marine and civil construction sectors, among others.
In addition, the Sarens family also announced the recovery of 100% of its capital, after the acquisition of 22% of the shares that, since 2021, belonged to Begoos (Luc Tack Group), and the creation of a new division, Sarens Wind Service (SWS), as a sign of its commitment to renewable energies and especially to the onshore and offshore wind market throughout Europe.
Sarens has extensive experience in carrying out major projects in Belgium such as assisting with the transport of the new tanks for the upgrade of the Citrosuco plant in Ghent. Sarens has also assisted Cargill in the maintenance of its facilities, providing the necessary machinery to maximize biodiesel production. In the wind industry, Sarens has extensive international experience in the assembly and maintenance of wind farms. In Europe, for example, it has been involved in lifting and transporting the foundations for the new offshore wind farm at Saint Brieuc, off the coast of Brittany (France).
